In this Disclaimer, “the Company” means Live Life Unafraid, PLLC, an Illinois professional limited liability company, through which Dr. Lauren LaPorte, Ed.D., LCPC, LPCC, provides psychotherapy. “The owner” means Dr. LaPorte.
For informational purposes only. The content of this website is provided for general information about the Company’s clinical practice and about psychotherapy generally. It is not professional advice, counseling, therapy, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for any of them. Reading this website or communicating with the Company does not make you a client of the Company.
No therapist-client relationship through this website. A therapist-client relationship with the Company is formed only after an initial consultation, a determination of clinical fit, verification of residency in a state where the owner is licensed, and the completion of the Company’s informed consent, fee agreement, and intake documents. Until those steps are complete, no therapist-client relationship exists, and the Company has no duty to you as a client.
Licensure and jurisdiction. Dr. Lauren LaPorte is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois (#180.010441, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California (#366, California Board of Behavioral Sciences). She holds a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology; her doctorate is not a medical degree, and she does not prescribe medication. Clinical services are provided by telehealth only and only to individuals physically located in Illinois or California at the time of service. License status may be verified with the issuing boards.
Current availability. The Company is not currently accepting new clients. Inquiries from prospective clients may not receive a clinical response. If you are seeking a therapist, please consult your insurer’s directory, your state licensing board, or a referral service.
Emergencies. This website is not monitored and is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or believe you may harm yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not use this website to seek emergency help.
Privacy and electronic communication. The Company’s Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how protected health information is used and disclosed for clients, is available to clients through the client portal. That Notice applies to clients of the Company and not to general visitors of this website. Communications with the Company should be made through the client portal; email and other unsecured channels may be read by third parties.
Not medical advice. Nothing on this website is medical advice. Do not start, stop, or change any medication or medical treatment on the basis of anything you read here. Consult your physician or prescriber about any medical question.
Your personal responsibility. You are responsible for any choices made or actions taken based on information on this website. You agree to seek appropriate professional care for your own circumstances and not to rely on this website in place of it.
No guarantees. Psychotherapy outcomes vary. The Company makes no guarantee about the results of treatment for any person, and nothing on this website promises a particular outcome.
